Career Experience
Director/Senior Director of E-Learning, Technology & Communications
2016 – current University of Florida College of Education
As the Director of E-Learning, Technology, and Communications—and serving as the Senior Communicator for the College of Education—I lead a diverse team comprised of instructional designers, online student services support, web designers, software and database programmers, videographers/editors, and graphic designers to support teaching and learning and advance the mission of our college and university. As a member of the administrative leadership team for the College of Education, I contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes. I also serve on the eLearning Advisory Committee, collaborating with stakeholders across the institution to enhance our online education offerings. Under my leadership, our team has ventured into innovative areas such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and AI-based technologies, expanding the horizons of our educational practices. In addition, I have served as a co-investigator on three grants with the College of Medicine for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation and led several large contracts for the College of Medicine. In addition to other accolades, our online graduate programs have been ranked either #1 or #2 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for the past nine years.
Associate Director of E-Learning, Technology & Creative Services
2015 – 2016 University of Florida College of Education
In the role of Associate Director, I have led a major change of our department, restructuring the roles and responsibilities to more closely align to the mission of the college and the dean’s vision. In addition to shifting our focus, I absorbed the communications department into ETC, helping to connect the learning development with public relations. Additionally, I led the development and implementation of several high-profile educational technology projects. In this role, I was responsible for leading the design of user experiences, wireframing interfaces, testing and deploying of web-based applications, and overseeing video production and marketing. In addition, I led the design and development of the IPI Data Dashboard and iPod Touch app for Duval County and created district-level inquiry showcase systems. My work on the LOCUS project, funded by the National Science Foundation, included writing initial specifications and recruiting the web development team for a testing platform.
Learning Systems Architect / Project Manager
2010 – 2015 University of Florida College of Education
As a Learning Systems Architect, I led the development of curriculum for Early Learning Florida at the Lastinger Center for Learning and coordinated the development of self-sustaining dgree and certificate programs for the college. I spearheaded instructional design and media development for the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership Online program, while managing and leading technology development for major projects such as Florida STEM-TIPS, funded by the Florida Department of Education. My work has involved integrating instructional technology for the South Florida i3 initiative and leading the user experience and interface design for professional development courses for the Florida Office of Early Learning. Additionally, I have contributed to innovative learning systems, such as STEM TIPS, and supported technology advancements through the development of dashboards, apps, and online tools. As a strong advocate of social media, I’ve leveraged its potential to enhance program visibility at UF, while collaborating on key educational projects with institutions like Stanford Research Institute.

2009 – 2010 North East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC)
In this role, I designed and facilitated the development of the NEFEC Model for School Improvement, an online instructional tool management system. I provided district and school-level support in data analysis to drive instructional reform and delivered professional development activities to leadership teams, helping align curriculum to standards and improving instructional and assessment practices. I collaborated with seven Florida community and state colleges to support articulation agreements and co-designed online communities, professional development courses, and resource repositories. Additionally, I contributed to grant writing, co-developed evaluation methodologies for internal programs, and established NEFEC’s social media presence.
Program Training and Design Specialist (Principal Leadership and School Reform)
2005 – 2009 North East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC)
As Program Training and Design Specialist, I designed and facilitated training experiences to enhance school-based leadership, notably leading the creation of NEFEC’s Principal Leadership Academy in collaboration with superintendents and the Florida Department of Education. I developed and maintained the academy’s web presence, including website content, social media, news blasts, and podcasts. I also co-developed and delivered statewide literacy leadership training for Just Read, Florida!, and aligned training programs with the Florida Principal Leadership Standards and ISLLC Standards. Additionally, I wrote grants for funding and worked with 15 districts to design leadership plans that received state approval.

2003 – 2005 Palatka High School
In this role, I taught English Honors to 9th and 10th graders, along with Intensive Reading Intervention classes for students in grades 9 through 12.
